SUMMER 2015

Well what a summer it has been so far…

I have to apologies on the lack of updates…but full time work and 6 horses doesn’t give me a lot of time to breath let alone type so I will do my best to fill you in on all the antics.

All the boys are going fab, Canto is now being aimed at the pure dressage as we feel this is where he is happiest, so onwards and upwards (hopefully on four legs) in the dressage arena from him.

Wilderness Halcyon has some very annoying teeth growing extremely slowly which has put us out of big competition, but he is such a special horse with a huge future, I am in no rush so we are happy ticking over and building muscle until he is perfectly happy in the mouth to fly around the Xc. He will also be looking at some BD dates end of sept and into the winter.

Scarborough Rock #thelifeofrocky has been the star of the summer, he will have his first run in August, a day I never thought would come…..following this post will be a case study on rocky which I hope you find interesting, what this horse have achieved is beyond belief and has made me realise how much I enjoy the recuperation stage of sport horses.

I have also been working with a very special horse based locally, with a similar story to rocky, who is coming on leaps and bounds. Both horse and owner are a combination who I have thoroughly enjoyed working with and I cannot wait to see them back out competing.

This summer had seen the return of the horse that started this whole chapter of my life. My first ever horse has returned to us at 19 years young to retire from showjumping and have some fun. I am VERY lucky that Hannah Wylde, a great friend and incredible groom will be spoiling her rotten and enjoying every part of her in her retirement. The pair bring me a lot of smiles and I will always be forever in Hannah’s debt for what she does for me so I’m thankful that quaver brings her so much joy.

We have also rented a part of the yard out, to a lovely local family who have been a great addition to the yard.

Lou-Lou is back in foal to Cevin Z and this years foal Bunny is growing up to be a VERY fine filly, bringing us hours of entertainment.
